THEOBROMA Chocolate Lounge is a chocoholic’s heaven.
The newest cafe in Rouse Hill Town Centre is filled with chocolate
miracles, ranging from bite-sized delicacies like Cherry Hearts and
Cappuchino Cups to chocolate waffles, croissants and fondue plates.
And the chocolate is the real deal: 100 per cent Belgian.
Owner Catherine Van Staden opened the store overlooking Town Square
in December and has been run off her feet as curiosity and word-of-mouth
drive customers through her doors.
She said she abandoned her career as a teacher after a mini mid-life
crisis coincided with falling in love with other chocolate cafe Max
Brenner.
Unable to secure a franchise from Max Brenner, Katherine discovered the Theobroma Chocolate Lounge operating in Melbourne.
“This is my baby,” she said of her new store.
“We love the product and are absolutely passionate about our chocolate.
“It is all locally made and contains no artificial colours.”
To keep her chocolate from melting, the inside of the cafe is kept at
21C, maiking it the perfect place to chill out in the hot summer
months.
Mrs Van Staden said she turned down the opportunity to open the store at Sydney Airport, chosing Rouse Hill instead.
“We just love the location. The fountain is just outside and we compliment the existing businesses here,” she said.
“And the people are lovely here. I fell in love with the people.
“They always leave with a smile. Chocolate makes you happy.”
Theobroma Chocolate Lounge is open until 9pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 5pm all other days
